Loaves & Fishes

Loaves & Fishes was established in 2018 as an outreach program for families with young children, incorporated with a New Vision for Chalk Church.

From modest beginnings it has flourished under the guidance and enthusiasm of Julie and her team, who are passionate about helping children on their faith journey, and now offers activities for all ages and abilities up to age 11.

Below you will find details of all the sessions offered, both at the church and at Chalk Parish Hall.  For more information on any of them, please contact Julie on 07786 616537 or email on juliaclairegarrod@gmail.com

1st Sunday in the month

Loaves & Fishes have tea – Meet as a family group at 4.15 to 5.15p.m. at The Parish Hall to hear a Bible story, play games/do some craft.  Then join other church members for tea/coffee and cake.

2nd Sunday in the month

All age service – Starting at 10.30a.m. at Chalk Church.  Normally includes a puppet show and the service is inter-active.  Refreshments available after the service.

3rd Sunday in the month

Loaves& Fishes have tea with the Vicar – Meet as a family group 5.00 to 6.00p.m. at The Parish Hall.  An informal service, which starts with food and activities for the children.  The service then begins and includes a short puppet show after which the children move to another room to explore the topic, while the parents continue with the service.

4th Sunday in the month

Loaves & Fishes in the forest – Parents and children meet at 10.30a.m. on the woodland adjacent to the church (whatever the weather!)  The vision of church members over many years has resulted in a very special place.  Here we have a scavenger hunt and play games connected to a Bible story.  A little after 11.00a.m. we join the service in church and explain what we have been doing.  The service ends around 11.30a.m.  and there are refreshments available.
